Hi Eds
Do have an idea of a likely destination for Teemu Pukki when he leaves Norwich at the end of the season?

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid not.}

Hi Ed's, wondering if there's any recent interest in Emi Buendia? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Aston Villa moved on, Leeds maybe too. West Brom may provide an option.}

Another request for an update from Ed002 regarding City's potential ins and outs, and a few other questions regarding the club.

It very much seems like the club is resigned to relegation now. Do you have any details of which clubs (if any) are interested in Cantwell, Godfrey, Aarons, Pukki and Buendia? Will the club look to limit the number of departures for important first team players?

I understand it is difficult to plan accordingly with the disruption caused by the virus, but do City have any incoming transfers in the pipeline?

Lastly, I was hoping you would provide your opinion on the way the club is run in general. Is the club being run sustainably, or too cautiously? How could the club change/ improve to become a long-term fixture in the Premier League?

As usual, I appreciate you may not be privy to much information specific to the club, but would be grateful for any insight you can provide.

Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - Relegation or not will determine what happens next. You can expect the club to look to take younger players on loan and they have asked again about Marc Guehi (CB). Liverpool and Spurs have an interest in Todd Cantwell but it may well have drifted away. Ben Godfrey (CB) is another HG option for Spurs. Max Aarons (RB) was seen as a viable option by Spurs but their thoughts have shifted.

So it is all Spurs really, but it will be made difficult by the high asking prices and Spurs having to sell to buy.}

Thanks Ed. I expect if deals don't materialise for the younger players this summer, perhaps there will be a promise to sell next year or as and when a suitable offer comes in.

I think many people had higher hopes for performances this season from Godfrey, Aarons and Lewis. For me, Cantwell seems to have been the most consistent player for Norwich so not surprised Liverpool have shown interest.

{Ed002's Note - It will be a wait and see situation at many clubs Jerv.}

Hello Eds,
Any information on possible January ins/ outs? Also, is there interest in any of the younger regulars (e. g. Godfrey, Cantwell, Aarons, Lewis) for a summer move, and from which clubs?

It feels (from an external perspective) that the board are happy to yo-yo between the Premier League and Championship. So I'm assuming any purchases will be fairly low key and inexpensive with a view to remaining sustainable in the long-term.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Not really Jerv. Norwich, together with many other sides have watched Danish kiddie Mohammed Daramy but I doubt he will be available in January. Jarrod Bowen (W) still remains a target but Leicester are pushing and seem more likely.

Liverpool may well still see Ben Godfrey (CB) as another HG option to Fry and White but there apprears to be no push. Interest in Cantwell, Aarons and others seems to be on hold right now. The summer seems a more likely time for much of note to happen.}

Thanks Ed. Bowen seems destined for a bigger club than City and I could see him fitting in well at Leicester.

Godfrey still has a lot of learning to do, but a full season in the Premier League will provide invaluable experience. I expect they will receive summer bids for at least one or two players and they have never been a club to hold back young players from fulfilling their potential elsewhere as long as the fee is right.

Do any of the Eds have an idea about which players City are interested in signing following promotion? I imagine most of the current team will be retained and allowed to prove themselves in the Premier League next season, but some shrewd additions wouldn't go amiss. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Interest from last year remains in Kasey Palmer (AM) and Isaac Hayden (CM) is drawing interest.}

Hello any Eds. Would you have any info on any January ins and outs please.
Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - You can consider Ivo Pinto gone. William Remy should arrive If a replacement can be found then Nelson Oliveira might also leave. How good is Anthony Spyrou? Is Carlton Morris up to it?}

12 Jan 2019 13:13:44
Thanks Ed. Spyrou has potential but a thumbs down on Morris, Cantwell is stepping up and filling a position and doing OK. Love to see him making it his own as he's a local Lad. Can't see us staying in the top 2 after the next few games against top 8 teams but fingers crossed we will stay in the top 4.

{Ed002's Note - Well good luck.}

Souleymane Coulibaly may be a target. He's left his club in Egypt due to security concerns and he's still young (21) he had a productive season in The SPL and has an impressive scoring rate in the Egyptian league. Probably £800k seals the deal for this former Spurs prodigy. Athletic, balanced, two footed and a natural ball player this striker offers a variation on our current options and he's someone with enormous development potential who will offer both goals and assists. Plays with a joie de Vivre and has some impressive gymnastic tumbling skills to offer some extra razzmatazz to our goal celebrations.

See Glasgow Rangers are taking the mickey with there offer for Dorrans.
He isn't a player I like but his value in the red tops was supposed to be in the region of £3m and I agree with negotiating but even Rangers must realise their offer was low.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

05 Jun 2017 11:02:11
As a Rangers fan I would be the first to admit that historically we are known for going in low and it was bordering on embarrassing.
However you will never get £3m for Dorrans as Norwich have made people aware they need these guys gone. He will move for 1.3 to 1.5. So going in at 0.9 isn't a long way off.
I don't want you to think I'm being off hand as I do like your club and the player. The amount of Scots and ex Gers that have played for you makes me always hope you guys do well!

See the dailies are suggesting that Howson will be available for £4m, I would expect near double.
don't want him to leave but if he does let's get a reasonable amount, EPD say he has turned down an offer so could he be waiting for the club to make him a better offer it is all speculation to say he wants out just because he turns an offer down it is called negotiations.

Alex Neil has to go but if the board is not willing to sack they have to spend big in Jan
The players we have SHOULD! Be good enough for top six but not under currant regime saying that spending big in Jan under Niel probably won't change a thing. A new manager under a board who have ambition and the money to invest is a must if the club we love ever want to be a stable club in the prem which for a club like Norwich is a very tough task Roy hodgson would be my choice but I see a lot of comparisons to mr houghton but Roy has a slightly better c. v with clubs the size of Norwich and as we lost out on big Sam I can't see a lot of better options

Sorry for for anyone who read my ramblings lol.

{Ed003's Note - Merry Christmas.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Dec 2016 13:53:47
Hodgeson is an obvious name and one with undoubted credentials however while I'd like to see him at the club in some capacity he shouldn't be the manager for two reasons firstly his age but more importantly his achievements have been at a much higher level. There is no point in just hiring a name. There shouldn't be a sense that the manager is doing us a favour.We have a good quality squad but terrible defensive frailty.David Wagner would be my pick.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2016 11:40:54
So Jez Moxey says the manager stays. If he does something has to change. Defensive qualities and performance are so often a product of coaching. We have a midfielder a winger and a bloke who ran a youth academy in Scotland who is ANs mate coaching a team of international players.

Time to reorganise the coaching set up because this one isn't good enough for the champ let alone the premiership. Keith Millen or someone of similar qualities who has expertise in defensive coaching would be a good addition if we are to persist with AN.

04 Aug 2016 21:52:31
Looks like NDoye is a target as a loan. Many would disagree but I'd be happy with him. Big unit lots of gas quality finisher and prem quality if a bit old. Mc joined Villa was more a number 10 anyway. NDoye has more than enough class to score shed loads in the champ. Last time out wages were a problem as he's on or wanted £50k per week. Will need to wind his neck in on this front or the board will talk themselves out of it again.

More rumoured striker targets Nakhi Wells, Assombalonga ( both in contract and clubs not rumoured to be selling plus replacements would be needed). Mbokani also a rumour although he is presumably more interested in Prem footy with 7 goals from 15 appearances someone in the prem should be interested. But it would be great if we could get him back. Wages might be a stumbling block unless he agrees a deal tied to promotion ie lower wages and large promotion bonus. Knows what he's getting at Norwich and it would be quick to get him integrated into the set up. Reading between the lines Alex Neil is interested and the ball is now in Mbokani 's court.

This is taking too much time. Rumours circulate that Fulham want 15m frankly if that is so then better options exist elsewhere. Kodijia , a renewed bid for Assombalonga or a cheeky punt on Will Grigg for the £12m we are said to have bid for McCormack there are plenty of options out there and we shouldn't eff about if Fulham want to be tricky. Fulham might even fancy their chances of promotion and see us as rivals after all they massively under performed last year and have some good young talent but trouble at the back and poor management. Now they have a decent manager. If they can fix their defensive woes they are a decent side. If Brighton can go from relegation contenders to almost automatic promotion contenders in one season then so can Fulham. But not without McCormack. I'd give then 24 hours then withdraw the bid and move on.

The next question is who's going and who is staying. At a guess we are still lacking in a few areas RB the buy can't defend. CDM Tetty gets injuries and bans such is the nature of CDM so more cover is needed. Then dumb call of the season we sell Hooper because Neil is married to the high press but then he realises we need variety and counter attacking nous so we pick up Bamford and Naismith. Does Naismith stay? What about the buy of the season Klose? Mbokani is a loan so we must sign a striker plus Bamford is also a loan. We may need cover at LB and maybe a third Keeper. If we can build defence that is tighter than a nuns chuff we might have a chance if or when we get back into the prem privided we can pick up the striking options needed to survive at this level when we finally return. Neil will have learned a lot. We should stick with him. Rome was not built in a day. He has more than enough to win promotion and with the right support next time out will be able to sustain prem existence.

Keeping hold of Klose and Redmond will be pretty tough I reckon. I agree we definitely need to sort our defence and strikers out. Naismith has been disappointing and I wouldn't be surprised if someone came in for him. Martin & Bassong should be dropped indefinitely from the first team, they're awful. Need to start building a solid defence with Ryan Bennett involved. Will see how good Maddison is next season but need to buy a couple 10+ goals a season strikers!

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2016 21:01:46
Kodjia from Bristol City and McCormack from Fulham would be excellent striking additions plus Lewis Dunc from Brighton at CB. Time to say goodbye to Martin,Bassong,Whittaker, Dorrans, Neil and regrettably Redmond. I hope we can keep Klose maybe we should make him the skipper.

I can't wait to see Maddison next year. We need to stop buying players who are at the end of their careers as the mainstay of our side though and concentrate on players who can make the grade in the Prem in one year from now.

Norwich have contacted Arsenal to request information on the availability of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Campbell. Norwich would like to take one on loan and have promised playing time. With the return of Ozil and Sanchez, one of chamberlain or Campbell may be surplus to requirements for the remainder of the season and Arsenal may see a loan move to Norwich as an ideal opportunity for one of their players to get more premier league experience.

Definitely have a punt on Shane Long, always scored goals wherever he's played, plus he very much fits the City mould. As for the other 2 it's a no no, especially given they would probably cost more than Long and in reality they are no more than good championship players, otherwise more premier league teams would have been banging on the door along while ago, tells you all you need to know.??
Incidentally would still love to see the boy Pritchard join, if only on loan.
