how about paul scharner? he's a free agent and has plenty of premiership experience! just a thought as cover in central defence

martin45

1.) No, just no

2.) He's already said he won't leave Germany for family reasons. But as above NO! We've plenty of cover at CB, it's a quality first choice we need-not back up!

3.) People on this site are going to slate fans for saying norwich were rubbish today but its same old chris hughton playing 1 stiker for the majority of the game. no snodgrass bassong olsson, defence minded again. we know its only the 2nd game but if you can't beat teams like hull with only 10 men it doesent look like top half for norwich. we can't say that it takes time for the players to get to know each other it was the same for hull.

4.) Think we need about 10
Players after today lol!
Poor poor poor

5.) Poor display Southampton at home next week nothing but 3 points will do. come on yellows. merseyside canary.

6.) Just one winger Redmond and winkel up front rest of the team defenders and midfielders a long hard season if we keep hughton

7.) Whatever anyone says, the fact of the matter is that against a newly promoted team playing for over an hour with ten men, we created very little. Chris Hughton is a pessimist; you only have to listen to his post (and pre - a la Luton) match comments. He sets his teams up to cope with the opposition, not to impose our own authority on the game. He was sacked by Newcastle for his negative attitude and he doesn't have the quality in his backroom team (unlike Lambert with Ian Culverhouse) to challenge his negative tactics. Paul Lambert praised our team after every game, Hughton tells us how good the opposition were. On saturday, we started with Howson on the right wing, was that positive? We had a natural winger, or someone that had played in that position regularly, sitting on the bench: Ollson! We could have played him on the left and Redmond on the right. We could have gone three at the back after the sending off - a positive move! Regardless of anything else, we need to recognise (like Newcastle) that Hughton, Culderwood (the worst manager Hibernian ever had) aren't good enough. Last year we didn't have a shot against Wigan (only team not to score there) and Stoke, two of our main relegation rivals. As a manager he is totally predictable, as the second half of the season showed. The two wins at the end were against teams who weren't at the races. Like Kevin Keegan admitted, when he was manager of England, against world class managers, Hughton is out of his depth. We have a great squad, full of young players that want to prove themselves in the premiership. All they need now, is a positve manager, to give them self belief and the right tactics, to go out and express themselves and enjoy their own game and play without fear. We had a worse squad (Wilbraham rather than Wolfswinkel) but played with belief and style - it's time to find a manager (like Southampton) that has the nouse to get the best out of the fantastic talent that we now have at the football club. Chris Hughton IS NOT THAT MAN!

8.) With reference to the above Novel, may I remond the author that negativity starts in the mind. If you think CH has a positive outlook on games (have alook at the second half of last season - not a shot against Stoke or Wigan) think on! Our players no longer play with freedom or expression, but with fear of what the opposition might do. CH was sacked by Newcastle, and I quote the Chairman - "because we wanted a different attitude in the dressing room". His post match comments are always how good the oppostion were, a complete turnaround from PL. He's had a season, not two games and quite frankly, the simple matter is, that both he and his backroom staff (Culderwood at Hibernian) are not good enough!

Apparently Ola Toivonen hasn't ruled out a move to norwich in this transfer window. This was on tv window watch! Could be a good signing, what do you think?

martin45

1.) Ola Toivonon can get stuffed. He's been waiting for a bigger club than NCFC to come in with a bigger offer and higher wages. Surprise surprise no-ones come in for him so now he's saying he hasn't ruled out Norwich, knowing he'll only get 25-35 grand per week here instead of 35-45 thousand per week somewhere else. If Toivonon was that keen to come here, he would've tied up this deal weeks ago and he would've on the USA trip with the squad and been part of the team getting fit now. Toivonon, go away into obscurity.

2.) I would still welcolme Ola Toivenon to our club. You know he would come with the mindset of 'prove I can do it in The Premiership and get the big move I want' which is exactly the same as Fer, RVW and Hooper. Of course he would prefer a move to a top 4 club, who wouldn't, but it won't mean if he does move here he won't give 100%. If he doesn't give 100% he will never play for a top Premiership team.

3.) Just looked at this Barrantes chap on their club web site. As a attacking midfielder he appears to be short on goals. It's one thing to score half a dozen goals in a 2nd rate league ( no offence to Swedes, Danish, Norskis etc but your leagues are not that strong) but to do it in the Premier league is a different ball game. Definitely a big NO to Barrantes coming to NCFC.
