i wonder if naughton is now excess to demands at spurs and if so its about time we got him. what do you think? I know I asked earlier for an extended cup run, but what a way to get it! i'm still getting teased by my american friends that we have had 2 possible goals of the season scored against us, plus tv love to humiliate us by showing rooneys and bales goals they scored against us. may I suggest a tighter and higher defence saturday v southampton?

I'd rather score 6 and let in 3 again! If Hughton tries to tighten up that defence any more we'll strangle the attacking play even more. Hopefully we'll strike a balance between the two.

Op is spot on defend high up the pitch, unfortunately hughton prefers two banks of 4 with the first bank so deep hence the slow build up when we attack

Sorry but how the hell can you say we have a tight defence? we let in 3 goals against a weaker team that we should've beaten comfortably without conceding. you can't strangle attacking play when you're on your own goal line or am I being daft? I don't think scoring 6 goals in the premiership is a likely occurence in reality but I too would love it just love it he says all keegan esque lmao. again I will say that a higher defence allows us to flood the midfield and getting more of the ball means we are not defending its simple logic. just a comment now but our site is nice and lively keep it up folks let's BE AVIN YOU!

To the 4th poster. I wasn't suggesting we have a tight defence - I was suggesting that Hughton does however focus most of his tactics on making the defence tight, which in my opinion is not playing to our strengths, and is resulting in poor attacking play.

Besides, one of those Bury goals was a deflection, and one was a 30 yrd screamer, and Bunn has been criticised for not saving 1 or 2 of them too - so you can't do anything about those types of goals. At least they weren't conceded due to defensive errors or poor play right?
