Last night team played really well but the one player who I wasn't really impressed with was wes. And I don't want to say this but for a player of his ability he just doesn't create enough in the final third for me and he never shots and last night I thought he dropped so deep at times but I think if hughton wants to carry on with the one up front system I'd wouldn't mind seeing elmander behind the wolf on Saturday.

Yes agree with you on wes looked poor and so did Johnson he can't pass the ball has looked out of sorts in the last 3 games

I don't know what everybody else thinks but I like the idea of fer and Wes in the middle of the park, Wes plays there for Ireland and looks really good there. I feel Johnson loses the ball more than Wes and I think Wes might be the creative midfielder we need in the middle of the park. thoughts!

Er. Sky said Wes was the best player on the pitch. he also had a hand in at least one goal

Wes gave the ball away lots at the start, only when the game opened up and he was given time and space did he start to play. If you look at his stats from the first division then the championship and now the premier league he has had less and less influence every season. Last seasons 3 goals and 4 assists was an all time low and shows that he cannot cut it in the premierhip. Time to sell him on along with Fox, they are both good players if given space but you don't get any space in the prem, players have to make their own and neither are up to the job. They both get knocked off the ball too easily,

I would question how much gym work some of these guys do as wes in particular gets eased off the ball all too easily! Very very lightweight! Was poor last night against poor opposition!

6.) 28 Aug 2013
Yes so poor and lightweight he is finally getting called up for Ireland. Get real? Do you expect Ronaldo to be playing for Norwich or maybe just some unknown who will turn out to be the second coming of Pele? Listen to the way other managers talk about him in their post match talks and they recognize the damage he does and the threat he is. If he wasnt good enough for the Prem he wouldn't still be in the team and getting games.

I've been thinking this for some time. Yes, Wes is - sadly - too lightweight, and goes get pushed off the ball too easily. Shame, because he's done really well for City - until last year, maybe the year before. Any suggestions as to who we cold get in (realistically) to take his place?

Terrible, just a terrible player! And all the people on here defending hoolahan are the reason why Norwich won't improve much more! You can't keep going on with sentimental fans wanting to see a player who really isn't good enough! And as for the argument that he's broken into the Ireland team just lately. Wow easy there he must be worth fifty million!
