Celta Vigo are set to replace Norwich City-bound Joaquin Larrivey with former Manchester City striker John Guidetti, according to reports.

Larrivey has decided to leave Celta after running down his contract and looked set for Qatar, but Fichajes.com claims the former Cagliari forward will continue his career at Carrow Road.

The 30-year-old scored 11 goals in 35 appearances for the Galicians last season, having netted 12 for Rayo Vallecano the year before.

It seems that what we were after all along was a big strong target man who knows how to put his nut on it.

This explains the links made with Murphy, Glenn Murray etc.

Larrivey however is only going to cost 2m which is less than half what the other options would be and he also has a decent scoring rate in two quite tough leagues to prove his pedigree (Spanish and Italian- so he should know how to fall over properly too).

Although square wheeled, he has a Fifa beast rating of 80 and 84 Heading ,which if they are to be believed would make him a player who is perfect for the role of one up top- a veritable budget Drogba.

Apparently we are not going to go with Larrivey.

{Ed015's Note - Said to be looking at Jelavic now, no doubt Hull will want 15M.
